Training Options

Blended Learning Course

The Heartsaver blended learning course offers the flexibility of self-paced on-line learning with in-person hands-on skills practice & testing.

 

This course is in 2 parts:

  • Part I (Online Learning) – The online portion is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program allowing students to learn at their own pace.
  • Part II  (Skills Practice & Testing) – The skills practice & testing session is designed to allow students time to practice before required testing to receive their certification card.

 

Advantages:

  1. Learn at your own pace.
  2. You can rewind and pause course, as much as needed, to gain confidence in the knowledge portion of the course.
  3. You have access to the course for 2 years. This allows you can log back into the course, after completion, and review information again and again to retain information and maintain confidence.

 

Instructor Led Heartsaver Course

The full course is done in person with an instructor. The instructor will show all required videos and conduct all required skill stations/testing in a classroom setting.

Each training format includes the same learning objectives so regardless of how you complete training you will receive the same (identical) certification card.

  • How to perform mouth to mouth breaths
  • How to perform breaths and use a pocket mask
  • How to help someone when they are choking

Instructor Led Course

  • Cost: is 60.00 per person

First Aid/CPR/AED

This course covers Basic First Aid, CPR and use of an AED (automated external defibrillator).

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of the first aid rescuer
  • How to identify common injuries and illnesses
  • How to implement first aid for: heart attack, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, shock, allergic reactions, and stroke
  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
  • How to perform CPR on Adults, Children, and Infants
  • How to perform mouth to mouth breaths
  • How to use a pocket mask for breaths
  • How to help someone when they are choking
  • How to use and automated external defibrillator device

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED

This course covers Pediatric specific First aid, CPR, and use of an AED (automated external defibrillator)

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online is intended for those involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This audience includes child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations. This course is also ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and guardians. This course is also appropriate for educators, teachers and the general public.
